121)21-06．役の背景を考える

脚本の中に見える形で書かれている部分と同じくらい大切なのが脚本の表面に出てこないそれぞれの役の背景です。この部分は木の根にあたります。見えないだけになおざりにされがちですが、とても大切な部分です。根っこがきちんとしていないと木全体が養分を吸い上げることができず、ドラマ全体が貧弱なものになってしまいます。またここがしっかりしていないと木全体を支えることができずドラマ全体がぐらついてしまいます。

この部分は実際には脚本を書き上げてから、役者自身が考えることも多いのですが、脚本を書く時点でもある程度、役について掘り下げておくことは必要だと思います。ここでは役作りのために用意された質問表を紹介します。 それぞれの役は以下の質問に一人称で答えていきます。（野村陽子著　ＰＩＮＣＨ　＆　ＯＵＣＨ　より）
